Organ Support Committee
Â
The Organ Support Committee continues to work diligently to bring our new organ project to successful completion. According to an OSC member the search for an organ to replace our current organ began over 25 years ago. Members and organists realized that the current organ, a loudly-voiced practice organ, originally installed at Luther College (IA) for student practice in a 25’X25’ room, was never intended to lead worship or be played in our sanctuary. Many in the congregation wished for variety of tone and sound, not just loud! Over time, during various committee meetings, members expressed concerns about the need to repair or replace the organ. Â

It is through communal worship that we are fed and nourished and sent to serve the greater body. Â A right-sized pipe organ that is installed in an acoustically appropriate way for our sanctuary will support and inspire worship, students and singers for the next century. Â In this way, it represents an investment in the future of our congregation and outreach for the greater community. Â
After much study and careful analysis of many organs around Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska,  the OSC, with help from organ consultant Scott Riedel, selected Létourneau Organ Builders of Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada, to build a new organ for our church.

There is much work to be done before the new organ arrives.
The organ loft must be emptied, cleaned, freshly painted, with layers of drywall installed.Â

The current organ will be removed by July 2026. The organ will be donated, but the new owner must pay moving costs. Â

Our committee is profoundly grateful for the generous gifts that our members have made and continue to direct to the Meeting the Moment campaign. The organ fund and the greater music program are among the beneficiaries of your generosity of heart and spirit, your optimism, your faith and your firm belief in the future of this church.Â
