Welcome

Thinking about visiting St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church? You’re always welcome to simply show up, just as you are. We would truly love to have you.

We also know that trying a new church can feel a little intimidating, so we’ve put together some information to help you know what to expect.

When you arrive

Our worship space is just through the Como Ave. doors. When you enter the sanctuary, someone will greet you and offer a bulletin to help you follow along with the service. Children’s bulletins and activity bags are available as well.

All generations are welcome here. Come exactly as you are.

During Worship

Worship begins at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings and lasts about an hour.

We have a blended worship style, incorporating a variety of music and expressions. During the service, we sing, pray, hear readings from the Bible, and reflect together. There’s no expectation to participate in any particular way. Feel free to simply observe, participate as you’re comfortable, or take things in at your own pace.

One of our favorite parts of worship is sharing the peace. This is a simple moment of connection where we greet one another with “peace” or “peace be with you.” If handshakes aren’t your thing, that’s completely okay. Many people share a smile or a peace sign instead.

Communion is offered each Sunday. We serve bread and a common cup of wine, as well as options for dipping (intinction) with wine or grape juice, and a gluten-free option. All are welcome to participate.

After Worship

After the service, we gather for conversation, coffee, drinks, and snacks. During the program year (September–May), we also offer Christian education for all ages.

But what do you believe?

That’s a great question and one that’s a little bigger than we can fully answer here. At the heart of our faith is a belief in God’s grace, love, and welcome for all people. Our church is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and they offer a helpful overview of Lutheran beliefs HERE.

Some Practical Things

A gender-neutral restroom is available just off the sanctuary, with additional restrooms located at the back of the church.

Parking is available in the lot across Luther Place (around the side of the church). Street parking is also an option.

If you’d like to stay in touch, welcome cards can be found in the front of the red hymnals. Feel free to fill one out and place it in the offering plate. You can also reach Mary in the office at office@saplc.org. Connecting with new people is one of her favorite parts of her job, so she’d be glad to hear from you.
