Special ministry grants to be recommended to the May 8, 2000 Congregational Meeting
The funds are dispersed to the following categories:
- Benevolence
- Capital Improvements
- Special Ministries
On April 11, the Special Ministry Grant Task Force made the following grant recommendations totalling $19,500 to the Cabinet: BENEVOLENCE
- $2,000 LSS/Teen Safe House (shelter for homeless youth)
- $500 W/ELCA Pin Project (fund-raising program)
- $2,250 New Lutheran Mission Outreach (ministry in Columbia)
- $750 Arabic Christian Studies (ministry in Jordan)
- $1,000 Lutheran Campus Ministry (music at St. Paul campus)
- $500 W/ELCA Pin Project (fund-raising program)
- $5,000 Liturgical and narthex furniture and office furniture (for several church offices)
- $1000 Office equipment (main church office)
- $1,500 Hymnbooks (additional copies of With One Voice)
- $500 Augsburg College of the 3rd Age (educational program)
- $2,000 Daily Work (cooperative ministry for underemployed members of Lutheran congregations)
- $2,500 Parish Nurse Program funds (programming)
- $500 Augsburg College of the 3rd Age (educational program)
As a final step in the process, the congregation will vote on these recommendations at the Annual Meeting on May 8, 2000.
