Guide on use of Offering Envelopes to Designate Benevolences
We have new offering envelopes this year, and some people have asked what
the different lines should be used for.
- 1. Congregational Ministry 2007
- Use this line to enter your normal weekly giving to the church budget.
The church budget covers both current operating expenses and 10% goes to
benevolences that are in the budget.
- 2. Mortgage Reduction
- Use this line to enter contributions to Mortgage Reduction.
This fund pays our building loan and 10% goes to four benevolences - Habitat
for Humanity, Project Home, Daily Work, and the Bible School in Martin,
Slovakia.
- 3 and 4. Other
- If you would like to give a special gift, enter what the gift is for on
line 4 and the amount on line 3.
- Key points about the envelopes:
- If you have special instructions, PLEASE write them on every
envelope that you use. The best and most accurate source of
information is your envelope, since any one of four people might
be doing data entry.
- If you do not write on your envelope, your offering will go to
Congregational Ministry 2007.
- If you forgot your envelope on Sunday, if possible, please write your
envelope number on your check.
- You do not need to total your offering on your envelope.
- Another option for special instructions is to use Simply Giving
(the automatic bank withdrawal contribution program).
